Default 'American Gangster' – High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'American Gangster' has been posted. He's still underwhelmed by the film, but says this Blu-ray trumps the HD DVD in a number of areas, with great video, improved audio, both the theatrical and extended cuts, and lots of supplements. Worth a look.

Sweet, both cuts are included with seamless branching. It's almost time to get rid of my HD DVD version.

Nice! Review for the movie could have been higher though....but all I cared about was the technical merits as I liked the movie regardless of what others thought.

I'm more inclined to agree with a lower review of the film. This one goes a bit too far in the glorification of criminality.

I didn't enjoy this movie much, so I have to agree with the lower rating. It started off interesting, and had a nice action sequence towards then end, but overall I felt it was a little disjointed and boring.

I dug the flick and held off purchasing it on HD when it dropped. I picked up the STD DVD in stead. I will own this film.

I don't know if i'll get this day one but definitely on my purchase list.

I loved the film and Denzel and Russell brought it on this film. I was so close to purchasing this on HD DVD but I held off in anticipation of a director's cut. Sounds like my patience has been rewarded.
