Why? It wasn't even shot in HD from what I recall, and it was framed at 1.33:1 wasn't it.

but werent all these tv shows shot in standard def and 4:3 AR? how much improvement can be made by putting them on blu-ray?

Casablanca on HD DVD looks superb and its a rather old picture, shot in 1.33:1 (Fullframe). So Friends shouldn't be a problem.

some of the early seasons look really terrible. if the masters are on analog tape, then they won't look much better than they do on sd dvd.

i agree w/ posters. the dvd's of the early seasons looked ghastly. the later seasons still weren't pretty.

It would have to be a huge improvement for me to replace all 10 seasons for my girl. Could be a Christmas present to her though.

these shows were shot on film so there could be a improvement on there quality with blu
