i love ben stiller, hes tied with my favorite comedy actor with adam sandler, and owen wilson, vince vaughn, and paul rudd just behind them, but i do hate rob cordrry as a comedy actor, i think he's completely unfunny, and probably the biggest reason why harold and kumar 2 is so below the original. i wanted to see this in theatres but i got horrible reviews and i heard it sucked from many people. but i think im going to have to blind buy it, i was going to bb the hd dvd but then hd dvd quit a little after this release.

I thought this was a pretty hilarious movie, but I already have it on DVD and have a hard time double dipping for comedies.

One of the worst Ben Stiller movies to date.

"Although the HD DVD and DVD are labeled as modified versions, the Blu-ray packaging does not indicate as such. In fact, the running time is now 115 minutes instead of the HD DVD and DVD’s 114 minutes. This seems to indicate that the Blu-ray has the original theatrical version."

The HD DVD and BD are the same. A change in runtime can be something minor (longer credits, adding a few of the warnings before the movie plays etc).

I have both the HD and BD and will run them through the player and check out certain timestamps to see if its been changed,

shoot, you're right. i started watching from chapter 1 instead of using the "play" button from the main menu (i hate sitting through the fbi warnings and disclaimers crap). the movie is still preceded by the statement about how the movie was modified from its theatrical version. damn.

There are a few subtle differences between the HD/BD coverart.

For one, the pictures on the BD appear to be different sizes as Paramount redesigned the UPC (smaller footprint). They also removed DD+ and removed the "film is modified". Once again, I'd find it hard to believe this is a different cut of the film - most likely someone rounded up the run time instead of down.

I like how the catalog number on the spine is just 1 digit away from the HD DVD....makes me wonder if Paramount always had it on a place holder just in case (or they were working on the BD for a bit before Paramount went Red).

I think they were. The Audio options list the TrueHD and DD English tracks separately (as was Paramount's past practice), unlike recent titles that only have TrueHD English tracks as a selectable option.
