Default 'Shrek the Third' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Shrek the Third' has been posted. He says the series is getting a bit thin with this installment, but still offers some fun for fans. This Blu-ray has very strong video and audio, and plenty of extras (though some are a bit fluffy). Recommended, but mostly for fans.

I enjoyed this movie, can't wait to get the BD. The HD DVD was great, so I knew the BD would be too. I actually did the coloring book on the HD, here's my work of art...lol

Uh-oh . . . I wonder if the Dolby Digital Plus/TrueHD difference will end up like the Transformers thread? Here's hoping that the original HD DVD review doesn't change in any regard.

I skipped this on Red, but I will definately give it a look on Blu now.

I picked this up on Red for less than $10 and still felt ripped off, what a terrible flick.

That said, the disc itself was top notch so fans should be happy with the BD release regardless.

I thought it was no worse than Bee Movie, its the third Shrek so its natural for their to be a decline in quality as ideas run out but Jerry Seinfeld had like 10 years to write Bee Movie whats his excuse?

I don't care about Shrek.

I've only seen the first one, never seen the rest.

the first one was good but the jokes in that aren't even funny anymore. they don't stand the test of time like pixar stuff does.

They are making a "Shrek Goes Forth." It appears they are now punning their way through the series. The 5th Shrek, as Dreamworks reported, will be the last (as if we were frothing for it, thanks for the note Dreamworks)

I would rather they spend time on a better Kung Fu Panda sequel. That has more potential as a series I think. I'm worried the direct-to-video sequel that will come with the Blu-Ray will be cash-in quality.

As for Shrek The Third, it's mildly enjoyable, but you'll start to find many jokes falling flat and many of the characters wearing thin and annoying.

It's a finite story, so five movies. Two more to go. BTW where is the BD-Live option? I don't see it anywhere on the disc. On the HD, the online features were listed under extras but not on the BD. Looks like no BD-Live.

me too it came out when i started the 6th grade but i love the first one and really want the first two to come to blu-ray so i can have shrek in blu-ray like i've been anticipating and then finally see shrek 2, and then of course see this. i was too cool for shrek, spongebob, and hey arnold repeats in my first two years of high school and the last few years ive realized that that shit is still incredibly funny to me, so im gonna stick with it, shrek was on tbs hd a few months back and it looked niiiiice

and still made me laugh

I just double checked, and Shrek BD has no Live content. The three HD DVD web features were World of Shrek, Donkey's Digital Coloring Book and Shrek Trivia Track. However for the BD, two of these were just included on the disc. The coloring book was cancelled.
