Default Kill Bill Vol. 1' - High-Def Digest Review

Josh's review of 'Kill Bill Vol. 1' has been posted. He doesn't have the patience to wait for 'The Whole Bloody Affair' and is happy he's checking these films out on high-def now. This blu-ray has great audio and video, but is lacking in supplements. Still, highly recommended.

4.5/5 for movie itself? I thought these were horrible.

Of course you did. Go watch some Fast and Furious movies. You need not concern yourself with these matters.

Disapponted that we don't get the Japanese cuts of these movies.

Quentin is not for everyone. You have to have a certain mindset or even an amount of mindlessness to really enjoy his work. I liked the movie ok, but not a fav. I may have to go back and revisit now.

Excellent review Josh. Love that you added the explanation about who owns the rights to the different version. Nice job.

The reviews were spot on. I was really taken with the sound. Crank it up and enjoy!

I loved Vol. 1, but could barely sit through Vol. 2. Perhaps it was the different styles, or the fact that a year passed after watching Vol. 1 before I rented Vol. 2. Could these pass as stand-alone movies? If so, I would pick up the first one.

It was mindless killing, with a sorry plot if you want to call it that and over the top gore

Well, the end of Kill Bill 1 leaves you with a huge cliffhanger sort of, basically leaves you with the, "I need to see #2 to see what happens, plus there are a few people on the Hit LIst still at the end of 1.

I can not figure out why Quentin will not do a commentary on these movies. I want to hear the commentaries.

Both are fantastic. Would love to see some more supplementary material but that's minor. PQ & AQ are near the best I've seen on BD.

I'm ordering my copy(ies) as soon as I get home. I was pretty sure the reviews would be good but just had to be sure before ponying up the dough.
