Yippee! X-files - in HD.

Any news on Fight the Future making it to BD? I know Spotnitz mentioned that both films were planned for high def release......

This movie sucked...... bad. I love the x-files as much as the next guy, but this was pretty god awful. I would get Fight the Future on blue ray at a descent price, but you would have to pay me to sit through this again.

Was it really that bad? The movie left the theatres so fast I got whiplash, so I didn't get a chance to see it first hand. In an offhand way, can you say what was bad about the movie? Like was it the acting, the story, everything, or was it something else? I'm kind of curious how they could screw this up that bad.

No, it wasn't that bad. Was it particularly great? No, especially after waiting 5-6 years for an X-Files continuation. It was basically a decent but not exceptional standalone episode of the series (aside from the character developments of Mulder and Scully which I thought was the one highlight of the movie).

Even though I had a free ticket to see this... I never dedicated a day to it. Netflix-ing it for sure.

It was a really bad episode of the x-files, nothing more. I mean I wasn't expecting greatness.... but.... just to save some people the Fox pricetag on a blindbuy. The movie *spoiler* is about a stem cell transvestite. There I said it.... and the only supernatural part is an old guy stumbling around in the snow for 20 minutes. Soooo yeah its pretty bad.

And don't even get me started on the guard dog... sorry about the spoiler but its for your own good.

IWTB did suck but as a huge X-Files fan I will not be able to resist picking up the Blu-ray. Hopefully Fight the Future comes out the same day. That film was terrific!

I don't think it sucked....

I think it just wasn't the route people expected... with 9 years of history to pull on you would have thought that they coulda come up with something better... for example an old enemy raises it's ugly head once again ie 'Tooms' like killings occuring cause an X-File to be reopened.

An old enemy that would bring mulder out of hiding and Scully back to the FBI for one last case...

But we got
Spoiler:
Kiddy Fiddlin priests and ice...

I seem to be in the minority here, but I thought it was an excellent film. It was a very poignant drama which really rounded off the Mulder and Scully arcs. What it lacked in special effects and action, it more than made up in character study. I guess most X-Files fans expected an action-packed FX extravaganza and were put off by the film simply being a dramatic thriller. I dug it, though.

I loved the character development but come on the FBI wanted list has Mulder on it

Spoiler:
and he's shacked up with Scully? surely they'd have been watchin her

Nah character development was great but the Will They, Won't They relationship of Mulder made the First movie brill and the series wonderful with each weekly adventure I was more of the Supernatural fan of the show rather then the alien stuff....

I didn't see it in theaters, because I was still catching up on the seasons. I read somewhere that it did break 50 mil worldwide, which could leave hope open for another flick in 2012. If they are really cool, they'll do it on Dec 22, the day cancerman said that the big battle would take place. I'll pick this up, to have my $$ be counted for that possibility-I love X-Files!

I'll blind buy this as an X Files fan that missed it on release.

I have heard though that its a glorified tv movie but average X Files is better than no X Files
