'Planet Terror/Death Proof' -- pre-release thread

In early alerts to retailers, the Weinstein Co. will be releasing separate stand-alone Blu-ray releases of 'Death Proof' and 'Planet Terror'

Street date is December 16, and MSRP $29.98 each.

I have both of the unrated DVD's already. I doubt ill double dip on them. I oove the filmic look of them both already so I dont really need them on dvd. Hell Ride is also coming out in octIll deffinitely be picking that one up.

I'll wait & pick these up used from a member. I've never seen Deathproof bit I did try watching Planet Terror once without successfully finishing it. I'll definately give both a try when they hit blu.

I agree. I refuse to get these until I can watch the fill Grindhouse experience as I saw in the theaters.

I also agree, but I really hate waiting, so I'll be getting these for sure. I'll just sell em on ebay when the time comes I guess.

Planet Terror was a fun movie, but the only one I own is Death Proof. It's absolutely brilliant. But these films are supposed to look old & scratchy, so a blu-ray release seems somewhat counter-productive. *shrugs* I'll pass on the upgrade.

Here's a catch 22 for ya'. Nobody I know who liked Grindhouse will pick up these two movies unless they release them together. But Weinstein probably assumes that because nobody buys the two separately that no one cares.

There has to be a petition somewhere. I've been wanting these movies for so long, but unless I get the full experience with fake trailers, I'm not buying.

How was it shown in theatres? Were they pieced together in parts or was one movie just shown after the other was over, with an intermission?
