Default 'Heathers' -- pre-release thread

Anchor Bay has announced not one but two versions of the cult classic:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/heathers.html
http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/heathers_le.html

Due November 18, there is the standard Blu-ray edition, and a two-disc Blu-ray/DVD set with collectible packaging.

No tech specs on either, but we'll get more details soon.

Retail is $39.98 for the standard, and $89.97 for the "Locker Room Edition."

I was pretty apprehensive watching it the first time (which was a few months ago), but have to admit it's one of the few true "teen" classics. The one liners, pitch black comedy, the concept itself... it's just a damn good movie. Also didn't realize just how similar Mean Girls was to it (MG is much fluffier).

Suicide has never been so much fun!

$40 is too high for a catalogue title. Yes, I know it will be around $28 on Amazon, but that, too, is too high.

According to the front page it retails for $29.99 and Amazon also has it listed at an MSRP of $29.99.

Amazon has it for $19.99 right now...

But I just bought the DVD for $7.50 off Amazon. No need for a BD transfer of this film unless it hits for under $13 on sale.

And the LE? Lame.

It's 19.99 right now for pre-order on Amazon. Not sure where you got that ridiculous $40 figure....

This flick has been re-released so many times. I think it has the Evil Dead(s) beat.

I think I'll opt for the "fuck me gently w/a chainsaw" single disc edition.

This is one of my favorite flicks. I'm excited to see it in HD...however, I'm sure it's going to have that 80's curse. It's gonna be a soft film, so I'm prepared for a slightly underwhelming transfer.

Good ols Rancor Bay back to their old tricks of multiple releases. How many Army of Darkness and Halloween releases did they get to?
