Default 'Nixon' - High-Def Digest Review

Josh's review of One of Oliver Stone's 'Nixon' has been posted. He says it's excellent. This Blu-ray has good picture and sound as well as some interesting supplements. Recommended.

The film is too long for me to ever finish, almost 4 hours long.

EDIT @ 9:58 AM: Review is not up (yet now).

Like Mean Girls* above me I've never 'finished' a viewing..... although, in my case, I've never finished because I've never had the DVD to watch it on my own time... I'll check out the BD eventually.

It's actually only 3 1/2 hours.

It helps if you treat it like a miniseries and watch it over 2-nights, which is what I did.

Pussies! I watched it two Fridays ago, all the way through.

I love this movie, looking forward to JFK on BD!

Yeah, I guess that would be the best way to watch it. I sometimes never get to finishing movies if I don't finish in one sitting though haha. I think that happens with me and any film over 2 1/2 hours.

i treat most movies this way. i fade at night from medication, so i can rarely stay "focussed" on movies as the night goes on. a 2 night view, i won't forget what had happened up until the point i stopped, and i always stop at a round # (30 minute increments) so i don't forget.

got this in last week, want to see it, but have to set aside 2 good chunks of time for it.

Ha! I don't see the problem with watching a long movie in one sitting, as long as it's compelling -- as Nixon is, in my eyes. But I must admit it took 3 sittings to finish PotC: At World's End, which was too long and muddled to capture my interest in any real way.

Those two flicks should never be in the same sentence.

I just wish the theatrical cut was availiable via seamless branching. It's a shame as I liked that cut far, far more than the one offered on . I guess I will have my non-anamorphic copy instead
