Default '1408' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of '1408' is up. He says it's a good Stephen King adaptation. This blu-ray has disappointing video, good audio, and plenty o' supplements. Worth a look, but he can't say it's a purchase.

Am I mistaken or did the imports of this seem to do a better job picwise? If so I'm REALLY disappointed in Harvey since Weinstein seemed to be consistent doing GOOD HD masters, not shit one's. It would be unfortunate to hear he's slacking off.

I have the import of this movie and I would rate the pq at least 3.5 out of 5. I wonder if Attebery used the import as the benchmark.

I waited a long time for this on Blu, and now it looks like it's not even worth it. I'm getting sick of all these barely better than DVD transfers as of late.

Im getting it just because its one of my favorite movies.... but then again i never buy movies just based on reviews, im glad im not like that... because then my collection would be really small... and besides atleast the audio IS a damn good upgrade!

I prefer The Mist over this alot... but its still good to see King getting decent adaptions these days. I love John Cusack and he is brilliant in this, I do agree with Peter's review though, if the PQ was amazing this woulda been a day one purchase, since its not, this is a BOGO purchase for me.

I'm pissed to see the 3 stars on this and The Mist, c'mon weinstein you waited all this time to release BD and we get 3 stars? WTF

I would say that too, but another member (poster5) here on highdef also reviewed the disc for his site and said some fairly similar things about the pq. I think many of these studios are starting to have double dip on their minds.

I waited 1.5 years for this to come to Blu and never bought the DVD. So I will grab this one and just be happy with it. The Mist I sold the DVD back in July in anticipation for the Blu, so since they are both $19.....its not too bad.

The PQ is good not great. It's not bad at all though. I still need to work on my reviews.
