Peter's review of '88 Minutes' has been posted. He says it's awful. This Blu-ray is also pretty bad, with a poor transfer, decent audio, and ok supplements. This is a movie that audiences and Al Pacino should have avoided. Not even worth a rental.

Allow me to concur with every, single word Pete wrote about this flick. I caught it in theaters and spent the last two-thirds of the movie wishing I had purchased a ticket for something else. I'm a huge Pacino fan, but '88 Minutes' is one of the most underwhelming projects I've ever seen him tackle. Ugh.
Here's to hoping 'Righteous Kill' isn't more of the same. |

88 minutes is one of the worst stinkers in a long time. No wonder it stayed in release-hell for eternity. This was on DVD in Europe over a year ago. Did it eben get a N. American theatrical release?

I think Peter Bracke is one of the few people in the world who has ever called the Dennis Quaid/Meg Ryan remake of DOA good.

Shucks. I really thought this would be a great flick since I saw the preview on my ATV. It looks exciting and my kinda movie(fast-face race against the clock a la Crank
). Every site has less than mediocre reviews. I will give it a rent but I doubt I will be buying it now.![]() |

Once again Bracke shows his incompetence by saying Pacino played a detective/cop/fbi agent in Dog Day Afternoon. What?!? Quite the opposite buddy. But I actually enjoyed this movie because of Pacino. If you take it for what it's worth and don't expect it to be the next coming of The Godfather, it's an enjoyable popcorn flick, and Pacino has some pretty good one-liners.

And this is exactly why I am not edge of my seat, rushing out Day 1 to see Righteous Kill. Ok...so I prob will still see Righteous Kill opening weekend, but I am going in preparing to be really disappointed. Why the hell couldn't a high profile and excellent director bring De Niro and Pacino together again? Oh well, we'll see how it goes. Ideally, they'll feed off each other and give excellent performances.

You know I don't agree with Bracke very often (well, practically...never), but he is being generous with a 1 star on this turd. (so I guess I still don't agree with him)
1/2 star for 88 minutes of my life I'll never get back!

When the reviewer mentions D.O.A. with Dennis Quaid as a good film, is he aware that that too is derivitive? The best and origianal D.O.A, is the 1949 film with Edmond O'Brien
