Default Sex and the City-confirmed to have TrueHD

This is a newline release, they have been using only DTS in their previous releases. While it doesn't really matter for this release, I'm wondering what they will use for LOTR. While I would prefer DTS MA, TrueHD will be fine as long as it's mixed in 7.1. Could they possibly release them on BD with just 5.1 sound compared to 6.1 on the DVD releases of the extended versions, I hope not.

I'm glad there's a separate thread for Sex and the City now. HDD's updated article on the front page says the suggested retail price is $38.95, which doesn't jive with what Amazon reports.

I just received my copy of Sex and the City from the WB store (a day early!), and I can happily report that the digital copy included is compatible with Mac/iTunes! I'm thrilled. Also, it comes in a slipcover.

It does? I have yet to try out the digital copy! Fantastic! I like the slip cover, seems Warner is getting good with those. 3 slips in the last 2 weeks.

It is.

PCM, TrueHD & DTS-HD MA are all equal - lossless = lossless.

The only area in which one is 'better' than the other is that Master Audio has that 1.5 Mbps DTS 'core' for those who don't have lossless capable receivers.

No, if you read my post I'm actually more worried that they might slap on a 5.1 mix, as for the most part Newline releases were 7.1. While yes I would prefer DTS-MA, TrueHD would be fine just as long as it's mixed in 7.1 as the previous LOTR EE discs featured 6.1 sound.

Except many films only have a 5.1 source, most films aren't truly mixed @ 7.1. What New Line was doing on Blu-ray was essentially the same thing as if you applied PLxII to a 5.1 signal at home, creating faux 7.1.

Not to worry though, didn't Jackson say that work had already begun on the LoTR BDs - they were just going to take some time? If work was already started on those films I'm sure they'll retain the old specs (DTS Master, etc.) like many of "previously mastered yet post released" titles.
