Default Warner Announces Essential Holiday Collection

Via Blu-ray.com

Quote:
Warner Home Video has announced that they have compiled a 'Essential Holiday Collection' for Blu-ray that they will make it to store shelves on October 28th. The set will include Blu-ray releases of 'The Polar Express', 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation', 'Elf', and 'A Christmas Story'.

Interestingly enough, Warner claims the set will be a mix of BD-25s and BD-50s. Both 'Elf' and 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' are listed as BD-25 titles. The original releases of 'The Polar Express' and 'A Christmas Story' are also both on BD-25s, but 'The Polar Express' gets a 3D re-issue that same week (possible BD-50) and 'A Christmas Story' gets a re-issue the following week (again, a possible BD-50). That said, it is still unknown which version of the 'The Polar Express' and 'A Christmas Story' will be packaged in the set.

Take it as you will.

May pick up Elf if the pq is good and, as n8boss87 said, for the childrens pile. I have Polar Express already but the 3D version does pique my interest.

If the Christmas Story and Polar Express are the new versions, I'll pick this up because I don't own any of these titles in Blu -- but that's only if this set makes them all cheaper than they would be if bought individually.

If HDD's specs are to be trusted, this will contain the earlier releases of Christmas Story and Polar Express, which means no buy from me. I'll pick them all up individually when I can find them cheap.
