Default Could "Gladiator" Be Coming To The US in Dec??

looks like it could be.
Just like HDD posted a story regarding a Japanese pre-order for" Gremlins", another eagle-eyed member of HDD has noticed that Universal is planning to release "Gladiator" in The Netherlands on Dec. 5th!!
Let's hope this means a US announcement is forthcoming.

Aren't the American DVD rights owned by Paramount/Dreamworks and not Universal?

since it's different distribution companies (universal in the nether regions, dreamworks in the USA), i wouldn't count this as anything. if they region lock the import, then Dreamworks doesn't even have to worry about lost sales from importation.

When Universal first announced its plans to move to Blu-ray it mentioned that Europe would get some different titles to the US this year the only one they mentioned was Gladiator. So this has been on the cards for quite a while now.

I don't understand how some movies don't come to the US.

Take Air Force One. It is not a movie I am waiting for, but it is a movie with Harrison Ford playing as the US president. One would think it would be available in the US at the same time as others countries.

If region locked, they'll be region B, but most likely at least In Bruges will be regon free since all Scanbox releases have so far been region free. These are not yet released (just announced to be coming out on Blu-ray in those countries) so nobody has been able to confirm yet.

American Pie seems to be coming out in Germany on September 4th and In Bruges is announced to come out in December in Nordic countries.
