Default 'Street Kings' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Street Kings' is up. He says the film is predictable, you've seen all of this in other films, but it delivers a decent tale. This Blu-ray edition features excellent video, powerful audio, and generous supplements. Worth a look.

Dull review here:

I'm waiting on the UPS guy right now!

I'm a David Ayer fan, with the exception of SWAT.

just watched this last night, I'm a David Ayer fan too, but i gotta agree with this review, its decent but still just a rehash of alot of better crime dramas. There was points in the dialogue where I could guess what the character was gonna say, but i wish they wouldnt say it cuz' it was so cliche. worth a rent though.

I may still pick this one up this week, but my wife is also asking to pick up Prom Night which I am so-so about getting. There are some cheap ones on ebay already so I may go that route with PN. Street Kings looks sweet though.

i'm a fan of david ayer but not a big fan, i'm a fan of training day because of denzel's fantastic performance and a fan of a poorly scripted harsh times because of christian bale's also fantastic performance. ayer's training day script is very good, but his harsh times script is mediocre and below average, with the street lingo wayyy over exaggerated with the "straight up pimps" and the "laterz". but i do want to see this but i'm going to have to either red box the dvd for a dollar or check out the pq for myself for 5 dollars because just about every other site said the pq was reference, and i'm curious if it is or not in my opinion.

no don';t get me wrong, i think my boy christian bale nailed that spanish american l.a. accent but idk, i'll take it from you cuz you say your from l.a. but that lingo just seemed wayyyyyyyyyyy too much but idk, it still worked for the film. harsh times still had plenty of flaws though, such as freddy rodriguez (not bad in planet terror but garbage in this) as well as the cop who pulled him over, horrible acting and he held his gun with one hand while approaching him, taunting them with the other hand. i just don't think an lapd officer would approach a situation like that, nor talk the way he did (he called them scumbags and all that).

Default Liked this movie.

I really really enjoyed this movie and the bluray is great quality with good PQ, AQ and lots of extras. I'd recommend this movie and I think it is a 4 star movie. Also Keanu was great in this movie, none of the stiff acting he has been known for. He has really come into his own in this movie, maybe he is getting older and perfecting his craft, I do not know but not one time during the movie did I feel his acting was bad.

I thought Freddy Rodriguez was cool, if anything the third friend was way too hyper--he was more of the (non-trouble maker) wannabe.

The cop was trying to act cool but couldn't pull it off, because the character's a cop trying to be down with the "bad" element. The cop was also a wannabe, but came off as awkward. They obviously knew him from school or neighborhood, etc...

I can't comment on Street Kings yet, I'm in the middle of watching Sarah Connor Chronicles.
