'Prom Night' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Prom Night' has been posted. He agrees with the assessment that it's the innocuous, predictable "training bra" of slasher flicks. This Blu-ray has good video and audio, and LOTS of supplements. Bad flick, good disc. If you must, rent the original.

I will be picking this movie up for Britney Snow overall the movie was OK and could have been much better but it still entertained me for 1.5 hours. I have seen the original and this is not as good but the original was not that great either. I would give the original a 6/10, and the remake a 4/10 or a 5/10.

Damn. When I saw the commercials for this it looked like an episode of 'My Super Sweet 16' where all of the obnoxious teenagers get hacked to pieces; I would have lined up on opening day to see that, but then it turned out it was PG-13. I was still holding out hope for the unrated version to be tastelessly gory (if it's not going to be scary it can at least shoot for that), but I guess not. Ah well. Thanks for putting this out before 'Lawrence of Arabia,' Sony!

Well, I'm skeptical but, the latest issue of my cult movies magazine gave it 2 1/2 stars and I really trust their reviews. I'll at least rent this first and then pick it up if I'm entertained enough by it. I dont' care for anemic, non-R rated horror though, for the most part so I'm either going to be surprised or irritated by this.

Not sure if you've heard of 'Videoscope' magazine but, I have a subscription. They don't go easy on movies. They actually liked this not a four star review but, said it was decent enough so that leads me to believe I might like it. I'll be checking it out.

Also, since 'Echo Bridge Entertainment' put out the widescreen release of the original Prom Night I'd like to see them put out a "budget" priced blu ray rlease of the original. Chances?

review: makes me want to pass this one, which i already had no interest in. thanks for making me glad that i didn't want it. a 5 star pq on a crap title would eat me up inside.

I liked this movie, there were some extremely stupid parts, but I love these type of movies. Leave your brain at school, and invite all your friends.

i just finished watching a dvdrip of this and I was entertained. It kind of just ends and i mean eventhough it ends how expected, you are still left there feeling like there should be more. I'll buy this when it gets below 20 bucks
