Default 'Starship Troopers' - High-Def Digest Review

Josh has reviewed 'Starship Troopers.' He's a fan and says the film has aged surprisingly well. This Blu-ray sports excellent picture, good sound, and a great selection of old and new supplements. Highly recommended.

Default Audio should get 3 stars

If the TrueHD track is having sync issues, I would give it a 3 star rating, even if it does sound good.

I've never watched this film, but because of this review, I'll Netflix it and see what I think.

Uh oh, I don't like that sync comment, I might cancel my pre-order now cause I have a feeling if it's noticeable, there is going ot be a recall/replacement program setup and I just don't want ot deal with that.

I just bought the UK version for $18 shipped sealed just in case.

The audio is not that far out of sync. It's infintessimally off. For most of the movie, it's not noticeable, but every once in a while it just doesn't seem right. Then you forget about it for a long stretch until something doesn't seem right again for a few seconds. Then you forget about it again.

I wouldn't cancel a purchase over this.

Ok, I was reading that it was consistently off throughout the movie. Hell I got the UK version cheaper than the US. I'll have to watch both see which one I like better.

Not sure why, but Amazon doesn't appear to be selling this as a stand-alone. And I'm so not interested in the "sequels."

Yeah, amazon is being stupid. Because of that they lost my business on this title.

CC has it for $22 in their add. HDmovisource has it for $21.

You can get the UK copy in a few places now. I got UK today on ebay for $18 sealed

I was one of the people perplexed by Starship Troopers in the theaters and then found the social commentary layered in when revisiting it on Dvd, deffinetely was a different perspective on a "Hoo-Ra" movie, but still delivers some action. I don't know if it was focused and sharp enough IMO for 4stars though.....

But then again I see the same complexity and social satire in movies like "The Mist" and "Smokin' Aces" and not everybody gets that either...

Will be picking this up at a good price.

I have the Superbit. 5.0 for PQ and AQ. I'll need to see and hear this BD before I buy it.

Troopers Superbit is a rare title. You could sell it for close to what the Blu would cost.

I'd do it.

It is off consistently, but it's close enough that it's not distracting most of the time.

We're talking a difference of milliseconds here. I doubt most people would even notice, but I'm picky.
