Default Oct 7th Most Likely Date For Ray Harryhausen BD Collection!

3 pack including new releases "Earth Vs. The Flying Saucers" and "It Came From Beneath The Sea"--2 other mid 50's classics!
also included is the previously released "20 Million Miles To Earth."
Both titles will feature the original b&w versions of the films + the new colorized versions that Harryhausen claims he likes.

I actually think it's coming October 14th.

It's confusing to me, too.

Sony's only official announcement for the set is "October", but sites like releaselists.com have it for October 14. It doesn't help that Sony announced another Harryhausen film, "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad", with an official date of October 7.

Guess we'll see if it's a mix-up or not.

Yeah that's confusing, I guess it doesn't matter either way though, one week difference either way. I have never even heard of those films until now.

I wish it was a Sinbad 3-pack with Jason and the Argonauts thrown in...

THAT would be my High-Def Crown Jewel.

all OAR 4:3 material released on Blu-Ray is windowboxed, and retains the 4:3 OAR.
black bars appear on the sides with very thin bars on the top and bottom.

and thanks for answering "my" previous post as well.
Although I still don't know for certain which aspect ratio "these" titles will be.
"Evs.TFS" better NOT be 4:3; its OAR was 1.85:1!

DVD Empire has the set with an October 7 date now, so it looks like all the Harryhausen for October comes out the same day.

That would be cool! I'm just seeing the giftset/collection up right now, but since I own 20MMTE, separates would be nice.

"The 7th Voyage of Sinbad" is coming out the same day. I'm hoping that means the rest of the trilogy isn't far behind. Warner owns "Clash", and has confirmed several times that it's coming to Blu-ray.

in my opinion, the 3 Pack SHOULD have included 'Mysterious Island' not '20 Million Miles to Earth'.

The official press release says the giftset includes "7th Voyage" (which is also being sold separately) and that all 4 films include both B&W and color versions.

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...d-blu-ray.html

No confirmation of separates yet, but if the Blu-ray set comes with the same Ymir statue the DVD set does, I'll just try and find someone who wants my copy of 20MMTE.
