Default The Exorcism of Emily Rose' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth has reviewed 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose.' He says the film pulls punches in the scare department, but serves as a great acting showcase. Fans should like this Blu-ray's excellent video, solid TrueHD lossless audio, and decent supplements. Worth a look.

I just got done watching this a hour or two ago. I enjoyed t and agree with the review.

My biggest (and really only) complaint, is that I realized about 5mins in, I would have to turn it up, the dialogue just seemed really really low to me.

I just got to remember to turn it back down before I watch a movie that's going to be loud or I;m going to be thrown backwards

And to think, I started not to get it. Decided to order on Friday

Great, so the subtitles in the scenes of the demon/priest speaking in Aramaic was kept intact???

The subtitles are gone.

Clarification is needed.

I thought the movie was decent. No need to see it again though.

Was this movie really based on a true story?

Good review.

However the movie was atrocious, and not very scary. I would easily say 2/5 stars.

'based on a true story' is thrown around alot. This movie changes alot of the elements, and speculates to high-heaven (THE HURRICANE anyone, with non-subtle language to make you realize they are speculating.

Watch The Exorcist if you want to see a decent movie on the subject.

*The courtroom scenes are extremely derivative and uninspired. The moral and religious conversations are very, very simplistic and predictable. Honestly it felt like I was watching a mediocre version of law and order that was trying to add a supernatural element.

I dont normally rip movies, but this was one of the worst movies I saw the summer it came out. It tries to be intellectual without intelligence, and a horror movie without creativity. RENT FIRST

Its a story based off the life of Anneliese Michel, saying its true or not depends on your beliefs though

I am a bit confused here. In the second headline of the HDD review it says PG-13, however, the image of the box clearly states Unrated. So I guess it is safe to assume that the film is contained in its unrated verson on this BD. But sure I am not now. Anybody knows for sure?

This is the Unrated cut, I already have it.

I still can't get an answer on those missing Aramaic subtitles. I find it hard to believe that those that have already watched the BD haven't noticed.

I got this a year ago as it was one of the first titles released in Europe.

Its a solid transfer and audio track but the movie as a whole is too cerebral for a horror though thats probably the only way they could have gotten the calibre of actors in it to sign up. I cant see Laura Linney signing up for One Missed Call.

Thank you! Gonna buy it now. The Aramaic subs are not an issue for me, not too fluent in it, anyway.

I mean, the verbal exchanges between the priest and the demon already had built in subtitles onscreen. I don't know if they were scrubbed off or what. It's stupid, because now you don't know what's being said. It comes off as gibberish.

It also sucks, because the SD version did have them and so did the theatrical release. I'm very frustrated, and I'm not letting this go until I get some answers.

I saw this and was disappointed in whoever they based Linney's character on. She's suppose to be a hard nosed skeptic and gets converted so easily. What a joke. Anyone know her name? I'm tempted to find her and meet her just to point and laugh at her. Seriously what an insult to skeptics everywhere. This is an opinion coming from someone who is open minded towards the idea of ghosts and all too.
