Default 'Step Up 2: The Streets' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Step Up 2: The Streets' has been posted. He says the film is clichéd and not exactly his cup of tea. This Blu-ray has an excellent uncompressed audio track, an underwhelming video transfer, and a piddly collection of supplements. Skip it.

He was far too easy on this... I only saw the trailer and I can say that the movie had to be one of the worst turds in history. You cut a trailer to make a movie (especially a shitty one) look the best it can and the trailer for this movie made me want to set fire to the screen.

I don't think you should be trashing a movie if you have only seen the trailer...watch it and then you can complain.

I enjoyed stomp the yard. This on the other hand was painfully bad. It doesn't even work as a guilty pleasure

Illegal street dancing? That is the funniest thing I have ever heard of. Is this movie a comedy or a parody of something else?

reminds me of that southpark episode

come to think of it wasn't this movie already made and called "you got served"?

The plot is bad but the dance sequences (which is essentially it's raison d'etre) were fantastic. Shame the video isn't meant to be great though Ken didn't see it in the theatre and a lot of reviews on here can knock the picture score for the stylistic look. He didn't say it was soft, just a few contrast issues etc so I'll likely rent this to see it again and check out the audio and perhaps buy if on offer in a few months time.

The PQ wasn't bad at all, it had great detail, the colors were muted though. It seems to be the source though, because the DVD has the same muted look, only less detailed.

I saw it and now looking at those pictures in the preview and now I remember some of those characters were bare-boned and no development at all. All the "sub-plots" seemed to go nowhere.

I know several people who worked on this...and even they acknowledge it as crap.
