Default 'Urban Legend' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's latest horror movie review has been posted. He says 'Urban Legend' is still a pretty fun little slasher flick. This Blu-ray has great video and audio, and some worthwhile supplements. Fans will be happy. Worth a look.

You won't learn anything new from 'Urban Legend,' but then again, any movie where Tara Reid gets mercilessly killed can't be all bad.
Amen, brother!

The lead female is SO FINE!! May pick it up when it gets closer to Halloween. Have to think about it. Just ok to me.

Ugh, doesn't sound worth it at all. While I do enjoy the film there just doesn't seem like enough to get me to re-buy it. I still wish studios would re-master all special features in HD.

Alicia Witt. Hallowed by thy name...Mmmmmmmmm...

Oh and by the way, the commentary is not a solo affair. Various cast members join the director. If I can remember that from seeing the DVD nearly a decade ago, why can't Mr. Bracke for a recent review? Answer: He's a skimmer and makes up the majority of what he writes.

I just watched this last night, was anyone else surprised with how good this one looked and sounded? It wasn't perfect, but for a ten year old slasher flick, it looked and sounded pretty damn good.

I watched this today, for the first time in years, and I forgot what an absolute cheese fest this movie is.

When it boils down to it, this is a pretty awful movie but I have to admit that I love all the elaborate death sequences in the movie. They're so over the top and impossible to carry out in real life that I laughed out loud through the entire film. If the death scenes in this weren't so well though out and laughable then the rest of the movie would be unwatchable. IMHO, this film is worth owning just to laugh it up when a couple of friends are over...

There were a few things that really dated this film too:

- When Joshua Jackson turns on his car and the "Dawson's Creek" theme song is playing...thats such an out dated joke now.

- That "Zoot Suit Riot" song by the Cheery Poppin Daddies is playing in the party scene. How much more late 90s can you get than that....

- Oh wait....you gotta love the Goth chick fighting with her room mate because she is using DIAL UP INTERNET and tying up the phone lines. Awesome

Having watched both I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Leged tonight IKWYDLS is streets ahead both as a movie and PQ AQ wise. I felt the picture for Urban Legend a bit soft.

Cool. I'm going to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer later on tonight. I'm hoping that it will hold up a little better than Urban Legend. Urban Legend definitely feels just like a goofy Scooby Doo episode...just with death scenes.
