Default 'Shutter' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Shutter' is up. He says it's so-so, but you might be better off just renting 'The Ring' again. This Blu-ray has schizo but solid video transfer, earbleeding audio, and fluffy extras. A rental for horror fans.

It should be added in this review that I would lick Joshua Jackson from head to toe, front to back. I figured when this film was reviewed I'd get a shout out. Where the hell is it???

Then the first big scary scene started, and I was almost rocked out of my chair. I was constantly on edge for the rest of the movie, not because it was scary, but because I was afraid of the next big moment when my eardrums were gonna bleed.
. Oh!!! man you are something else.

Default Bonus missing...

Once again, M. Bracke cut short the list...

Where's the BD exclusive "Fox Movie Channel presents "In Character with Joshua Jackson" and the very very creepy (more than the movie) "Japanese Spirit Photography Videos" ??

I have these on my BD edition. Not you?

Yes, same here. I disagree with the PQ and AQ scores, they were actually a lot better in my opinion.

Like I said, even I hated it. That's really saying something.

I've just finished watching the first 30 minutes. I don't think I'm going to make it through all of it.

I love the fact that it's set in Japan, and there's some cross culture going on--but I'm not feeling the rest.

Ugh, now I've gotta try and watch the The Ruins.

Gotta love Netflix.

Ruins is actually a pretty good flick. Id give it 3.5/5 on movie. That compares to Shitter being a .5/5

i just rewatched the SD DVD for the second time and wow the movies not that bad its just nothing new at all its the same as every other asain horror movie. I would give it a 2/5 while One missed call would be a 0/5. ugh what a horrible movie but oh well everyone has different tastes. As for the Ruins I liked it ti was a solid movie good enough for a purchase i give it a 3.5/5 or a 4/5 but it cant hold a candle to The Descent.(one of my favorite horror movies)

I think Peter has some serious calibration issues if the audio was realy like he said it was. I did not find the "shock audio" moments any more loud or harsh than other films of a similar variety and not anywhere near the point of "turning down the volume and reading the subtitles" That is ridiculous! Maybe a recalibration of his system is needed.

I agree, while I thought the sound design was a little boring, I was not overblown by any of the shock moments in the movie
