The digital copy is nice. I can't imagine the DVD game being any good, but you never know.

Yeah...I agree. The cover looks good. Seems like a good value package overall. Hopefully this package will make a profit more than the movie did in theaters,lol.

As a fan of the classic series I found some of the changes annoying... The Mach 6 in particular. Firstly, there should never be a Mach 6. It's Mach 5, damn it. Secondly, they introduce it into the film with absolutely no explanation as to why the Mach 5 is no longer viable. Maybe the explanation scene had to be cut for brevity or something.

The simple answer is that things change in movie adaptations to fit modern style. Did you object to Nolan's swap of the "tumbler" for a straight-up Batmobile? However, a specific answer to your question is in the spoiler text below.

To compete in the Grand Prix, Pops felt they needed a state of the art racing car with a Bernoulli Convergenator! It's also a point of pride in beating Royalton's fancy automated factory creation. It's visually implied that maybe Speed damaged the Mach 5 racing Rex at Thunderhead after Togo-Kan's betrayal. That's why they upgraded to the Mach 6

Well if you've been reading this forum, you've also heard that it is great. Everyone I've talked to liked it in fact. I think most critics don't watch much TV and many of them are too old (and too young at college papers) to know the show that well. I think kids will like it regardless, but perhaps knowing the show at least slightly helps. My friend that hadn't seen the show in like 20 years still remembered enough to love the movie transition.

It is a dazzling visual treat and a surprisingly family friendly film from a team that produced "Bound" and the hyper violent Matrix films.

And yeah I thought they coulda left out changing it to the Mach 6, but at least it was near the end. Though it could have simply been a different racing number because when Spridle and Chim Chim are caught by pops watching the race, Spridle says "if it isn't Speed then who's driving the Mach 5!?"

You're mistaken in your spoiler. The Mach 5 is used in the Casa Cresto race. The Mach 6 makes its debut at the Grand Prix.

I missed this in the theatre, but I'll definately rent this, the racing scenes look great - total eye candy.

The movie was a blast. Well worth owning. At $25 with Amazon pre-order, I'm buying now so I get it on release day (Thanks, Amazon Prime!)
