Yeah we will have to wait and see I guess, I could see it being 2 disc on Blu-ray.

You know somethin', fellas (and ladies)?

As an absolute diehard fan of Carpenter's original, I really didn't know what to make of this...remakes have become all the rage of late, especially in horror, and most have bombed -- I'll give the thumbs up to titles like House on Haunted Hill and Dawn of the Dead, but the rest just sucked...has anyone seen Paris Hilton in the remake of House of Wax? How about the travesty that was Texas Chainsaw Massacre? And forget The Amityville Horror remake -- EVERYTHING about that film's true story was totally lost and changed...it made the 1977 original look like a work of art...

But I couldn't BELIEVE my eyes when I read a remake of HALLOWEEN was coming...I rented the DVD once it came out, and I was really surprised that it wasn't THAT bad -- let's not kid ourselves here, gang: this is absolutely NOT Carpenter's Halloween and it's not even in the same ballpark as that film. But I was surprised with the effectiveness of Zombie's Michael Myers for this remake...he was pretty scary. The scenes of him beating everyone up in Smith's Grove Asylum were pretty stupid, and the scene with the black truck driver in the truck stop toilet was ridiculous -- it tried to "imitate" the Carpenter sequence where Michael gets his jumpsuit from the tow truck driver -- and there were a lot of other ridiculous plot changes, like Michael's mother being the sexy, trampy town slut who's a stripper...I mean, come on, Zombie...

But Malcom McDowell was decent as a somewhat younger Loomis, and the kid that played Mikey was pretty effective, too -- the actual older, lumbering Michael was pretty convincing...at the end, though, this is a film that should NOT have been greenlighted by Carpenter for a remake -- he must need the cash because he agreed to The Fog earlier, too...it's not the same film as the little indpendent gem put out by Compass International all those years ago.

I'll probably pass on this BD...although I gotta say: I remember the DVD version looking and sounding pretty good...

OH YEAH!!! TOTALLY FORGOT THE HILLS HAVE EYES!!! AWESOME remake...yes, you are right! I have the DVD with the "blood cover" on it...AWESOME!

Yeah, oddly enough, that remake blew Craven's original out of the water -- I fell asleep on the original a few times, as I did with the original Dawn of the Dead...

Long overdue. Can't wait. I loved the remake. The only thing I think Zombie should have done different was go with his original ending of Michael dying instead of Loomis with no loose ends.

Oh boy...another who "loved" this remake...

Were you raised on the '70s original? Well, to each his or her own; this wasn't the original Halloween, though...surprisingly not as bad as I THOUGHT it would end up, but it's not Cundey/Carpenter/Hill/Castle, that's for sure.

...my G-d man...YOU COULDN'T HAVE SUMMED IT UP BETTER THAN THIS...

I TOTALLY argree...these !!^%!^!@ teenagers are RUINING the in-theater experience for most of us...it's ridiculous...they just don't shut the ~!!@!@ up during a film...laughing, throwing s@&#&@#^& all over the theater...

Horror is the worst, yes...these kids just LAUGH at everything...I simply don't get it...it's really rude and theaters need to crack down on this...

Guess that's why we love our home theaters, huh guys?

When I saw SUPERMAN RETURNS in theaters, it was a miserable experience...this one stupid kid who thought he was so cool kept yelling s@&^& out at the screen to impress the chicks he was with...

Wanted to crack him in the back of the head with a DVD box set; ruined the whole experience for me...had to enjoy it on DVD at home when it came out.
