A lot better price, don't know if I want to buy it though. Have you seen it?

So that is the final art? Darn, I was hoping for something different.

I'll have to see the reviews on this one before I buy..... already owning the DVD It'll have to offer a drastic improvement in PQ and/or worthwhile new extras.

My thoughts exactly.

Nope, never. Had it in my QPs way back when and started to get it but never did. Now I know I won't cause It only has 14 or 15 episodes on it, not really worth it IMO

Yup, 14 episodes...I wouldn't pay more than $50.

Still interested in seeing having not watched Serenity yet.

Serenity is coming right in October, so that's good. I don't expect to buy Firefly, kinda pricey.

I have the DVD of the entire season, Amazon had it for $19.95 for quite awhile. It's a great series, definitely worth a watch, especially if you enjoyed Serenity. But there is no freaking way I'd spring for $89 or even $62 for the ; the DVD upconverts very well and it's only a TV series with audio designed for DD 5.1 at best - even if Fox gives it DTS-HD Master Audio, it's not likely to be a huge upgrade.

Universal HD aired the series in HD; I don't know if Fox is using the same master, but the Universal HD honestly didn't look any better than the DVD upconvert; I stopped watching after one or two episodes.

I always said I'd pay anything to get this series on blu, and I'm sticking to that. I've watched the dvd's dozens of times each, and I'm sure I'll get my moneys worth with this one.

Was the series originally mastered in HD? The effects rendered at full resolution?

I'm really hyped to get this!
... on sale later this year. Seriously, little pricey there Fox.

I also picked up the DVD set for $19.95, so no hurry on this double dip.

I haven't seen it on Universal HD yet, but I've read numerous times that the effects were *NOT* mastered in HD. Bit of a bummer, but that's the way it is.

The effects were not rendered in HD. The quality jumps from shot to shot as any scene that has a CGI element will be no better than SD. That is of course unless the series has gone under some massive remastering..... which I seriously doubt. Especially since the UHD showings don't look that great.

Ugh. I wouldn't mind having this set, but considering the regular DVD can be got for less than $20, it isn't even remotely worth it.

I'll wait until I can find a used copy cheap somewhere....
