Default 'Be Kind Rewind' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth has reviewed 'Be Kind Rewind.' He thought it was a mixed bag, but says the Blu-ray will please fans with its excellent video, audio, and extensive (and HD exclsuive) extras. Worth a look.

What's up with all of the extras (especially the HD Exclusive) being in SD?

loved the movie(4.5/5)
its warm at heart and funny as all get out. If you check out the bonus features of Possaic Mossaic or whatever it shows that they were sincere to the town and got the whole town involved in the film. Most of the kids, teens, walk INS to the videostore were actual towns people. And it showed how whole hearted the actors and director was. It really shined a light and changed my view of Jack Black and Def(altough I liked them before too). Better than eternal sunshine IMO.
pq is a solid 4 and the AQ I thought a 4.5(7.1 Master!!!)

Definitly check it out.

I would imagine a 2-disc standard DVD with the additional SD features will make an appearance in the near future. Who knows -- this may be a clever way to help fans feel their BD dollars are getting them more than just a video/audio upgrade.

While I wish the supplements were in HD, at least their exclusive nature makes for another enticing reason to buy the Blu-ray instead of the DVD.

True, true. Thanks for that quick reply, Ken!

I guess I'm the guy that didn't really mind some of the disjointedness, if that's a word, I did notice and from a critic eye I understand the score, but on a personal level I LOVED this movie, I think its one of those movies that has alotta heart so I can look past those mistakes.

IMO, I don't think it was lack of a tight script it was that this movie was supposed to be lighthearted, it didn't carry a lot of the weight that eternal sunshine did... but I don't think that's a bad thing, its movie about love of music and movies and how it can give a community pride by having that and I can relate to that BIG time.

I agree with Ben1080 this showed a lot from the filmmakers by involving the community and is a testament to what the movie is all about.

I couldn't even get through this movie it's so stupid. Just MASSIVE plot holes and leaps in logic. I assume a 12 year old boy may find some entertainment value, but I just couldn't.

What plot holes!?
and leaps in logic? Do you really think that someone can get shocked by electricity(lifted as well) and become radioactive. After that I realized I shouldnt relate this movie to anything logical.

That's a pretty hardcore statement without a whole lotta reason, to each his own though....... not being 12 I still enjoyed it though.

watched it this weekend, kinda disappointed, but i did enjoy it.

i believe it DID have plot holes, like how Jerry stops magentizing things as soon as he takes ONE PISS. i mean, come on.

but i still feel this film was weaker than ETOTSM and Science of Sleep (which i want the blu import of, dammit!)

Had high hopes when I went to see this at the cinema, was really dissapointed could have been really good, the best bit for me was when they broke into the other video store for the projector..now that was funny.. never lived upto what the trailer seemed to promise... lets hope tropic of thunder isnt as big a let down

Disjointed is the perfect description of this movie...I enjoyed it anyway, and in no way, shape, or form is this a belly-laugh comedy...so don't go into it expecting that. 4/5 stars.

I love warm films that focus on communities & community spirit. They are all too rare in this day and age. The last great one was "Groundhog Day" but they haven't been made in abundance since the 50s. This film missed many opportunities to be greater but in the end, I think it works. I was entertained and it held up for me on the second viewing. I agree with much of the review but would bump it up an extra 1/2 a star for its heart and from deviating so much from today's standard comedy fare.
