Default 'Weeds: Season Three' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Weeds: Season Three' is up. He says the series is still charting new territory. This Blu-ray lights up the screen with an excellent video transfer, a lush 7.1 Master Audio soundtrack, and a vast reservoir of supplements. Recommended.

I know a lot of fans didnt like the third season, but I was one of the few that did. I like the progression of the storyline and the characters.

One of these days I am just going to pick up the set of all the seasons ....Thanks for the review

EDIT: BTW the link goes right to the Product page, not the review .... I put the link to the review in there

I finally finished Season 3 the other day. I like the first 2 better, but it is still great!

One of my friends told me about this show a couple weeks ago. I watched the first three seasons in days. It is one of the best shows on TV. I like season 2 more but season 3 was very entertaining.

I absolutely love this show! Season 4 just started last week and I'm hooked again.

Candymangt.... Weeds is a dark comedy show about a suburban wife who ends up dealing pot for her family. It's really good. If I were you, I'd netflix the first season and give it a try.

I liked Season 3, but have a feeling it is jumping the shark in Season 4. Things just kept spiraling in Season 3, which was fun, but like an actual natural disaster (fun to watch) the aftermath is going to suck. At least judging by the Season 4 premiere, which I am nominating as the worst episode of the series.

lol bamboo, i love the phrase "jumping the shark." given enough time, EVERY tv show will jump the shark, as it were, it's just an inevitability. some shows, it's instant, others take a few seasons. only the smart ones end it on their terms before the shark.

yeah, this show is very much like the modern tv shows w/ a continuing storyline, like a soap opera/24, or most japanese anime.

i'm starting to think the days of shows like Frasier and Friends are gone. just episodes that are random, not one continuing story-arc

Has Weeds been extended past season 4 so far? I'm a big fan of the show, but I'm ready for it to be done soon. Maybe 5 seasons?

What does this show compare to?

Right now I am trying to get my wife caught up with The Shield on DVD for the series finale this fall. We are on season 2 going to season 3 over the weekend. We love picking up shows on DVD/BD (if avail) and watching them. I have seen all the seasons of the shield on TV, but she hasn't. After we are done with these, Weeds could be one to watch.

Hmm I dunno what to compare it to, obviously nothing like typical cable channel shows such as Lost, Desperate Housewives, Prison Break, etc. Weeds is very adult oriented, quite a bit of sexual content and nudity, not to mention language. It's a great show though, if sex and language doesn't bug you. I know lots of people who disliked it because they felt it was unnecessary.

It reminds me a bit of 'Big Love,' but not much else. It's blend of drama and comedy is more cinematic than is expected of a television show IMO.

You could compare it's tone to 'Desperate Housewives,' but I think 'Weeds' is much, much better. Actually, come to think of it, 'Weeds' even has an occasional 'Scrubs' vibe.

It's definitely tough to classify.
