Default 'Fool's Gold' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Fool's Gold' is up. He says it's an utterly predictable romantic comedy disguised as a seafaring thriller -- even Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey aren't enough to enliven this landlocked adventure. This Blu-ray is lackluster, with decent video, average audio, and nary a supplement in sight. Worth a rental for fans of this genre or the stars.

Never wanted to get/watch it, so this review just makes it all the more reason to do neither

Whats with all the AC-3 640KBps encodes from Warner? Even though this disc is worthless to me, I would still like to see all titles on Blu Ray from all the major studios have lossless audio, despite the title and the nature of the sound mix.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was already painful, and the trailer for this just looked like doo-doo

I was really going to get it, until I found out PQ and AQ are terrible. BOGO it or BRBS it when its 12 dollars in 2 weeks

I didn't think the film was terrible (obviously it wasn't anything great), but the PQ/AQ are disappointing here. I was probably going to end up picking this up as my fiance liked it quite a bit, but now I guess I'll wait until it's a bargain bin, if at all.

How does the adventure/thriller portions compare to a movie like Sahara? Is it all romantic comedy?

Honestly I've never seen Sahara. Going off memory here, I don't recall there being a ton of action. What was there wasn't bad though.

Complete SHLOCK like this shouldnt even get a Blu-ray release. Its maddening that there are worthy catalog title sitting around screaming for upgrades and they invest the time and energy into this horrible Sh!t.

Man... I love but they have some of the WORST movies ever in their catalog.

I came into it expecting a fun movie and nothing serious and thats exactly what I got. I enjoyed it for what it was worth and there are a couple of laughs in there. I also thought the P/Q rating should have been at least a 1/2 star higher though.

I enjoyed it. Thought the characters had chemistry forsure. Enjoyed it for a chickish flick.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. For a romantic comedy it achieved what it set out to do...entertain the girls while not boring the guys too much.
