Default The Incredible Hulk (2008) - expect around 70 min of extra footage

I know its way too early but I came across this article talking about the eventual Blu-ray release:

During my roundtable conversation, Louis(director of The Incredible Hulk) dropped a bombshell of awesomeness. Yeah, I used awesomeness. He said that the upcoming Blu-Ray of the Incredible Hulk would have 70 minutes of additional footage! Yes…70!

Of course he said the footage was cut for a reason…but for fans of the film and Marvel movies, knowing you’re going to get so much additional footage is just something really cool to look forward to. I then asked him if the normal DVD would have it and he wasn’t sure as Blu-Ray’s hold a lot more data. But I’d imagine Hulk will be a special 2 disc edition DVD and if that’s the case, the normal DVD would probably have it as well.

I hope its 70 minutes of deleted scenes that can be played with or seperate from the movie with branching. 70 mins inserted back into the film as a Directors Cut or something would be madness

If that is true then it should be interesting but somehow I doubt that all 70 minutes will be added to the DVD. I will buy it regardless I love the Hulk character that much. I am looking froward to actually seeing the movie this weekend.

So do I but unfortuantely he says in this vid that the theatrical cut is the only thing we'll see as he wants to respect that this is the only and best cut of the film. But you never know it could be a different thing on blu-ray with the extra space and seamless branching.

if the director said it was cut for a reason, why would he want to cut it back in for his cut?

i'm sure a directors cut would be longer, but no way he wants 70 more minutes in there

Is the 70 minutes cut the other movie with Eric Bana in it?

I don't think it is meant to read like there will be an extra cut that is 70 mins longer. It just sounds like all told, they will be making all 70 mins available in some form or another on the DVD.

The best thing to do would be to have two different cuts:

1.) the Theatrical Cut/Marvel Studios' preferred cut
2.) Edward Norton's preferred cut (which apparently was longer with more character-building scenes)

And then give us deleted scenes seperately that were not good enough to make either cut.

this sounds cool. I was pretty ehh about this release since I've never been much of a Hulk fan but then I saw this new teaser trailer on TV this morning and Robert Downey/Tony Stark was in it! It seems that Marvel is using Ironman as a crossover character. William Hurt refers to Downey Jr. as Stark so hopefully this is Tony Stark post creation of Iron Man and not just a cameo as a weapons genius. Definitely excited now.

here's the link to the trailer on youtube: http://youtube.com/watch?v=BOq0BD_Eiig

I've heard that Ed Norton is a little pissed at what was cut.

On the other hand though, Ed Norton seems to be pissed about most movies he's involved with.

I read a review of the movie and they said that there's almost no character development and that they just 'did what the fans wanted' which is action.
I'm sure an actor like Norton or any good actor would think they were just being wasted in something like that.
I look forward to the Norton cut.

Definitely.

Shit, 70 minutes is a huge chunk! I just hope it's a quality 70 minutes - sort of like the extra footage added to Kingdom of Heaven, which I thought made it a much better flick.
