Have other budget titles already been released? If so, what is the quality for these sorts of releases?

It is nice to see some older films released on Blu-ray, but like Brent L asked, what is the general quality of these releases? Is any care at all spent in their video presentation?

These movies appear to be in the public domain.

Well, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't expect anything spectacular.

The Terror is probably the most boring horror movie ever made.

Well, I , for one am psyched that now even these "little" public domain films are coming to BR. It's exciting that smaller, films are coming out. I've never seen Bogie in 'Beat the Devil' and why not pick it up for that price? 'The Terror' is a Roger Corman flick, and while its not very good it's cool that it's coming out. Bring 'em on. Is the company releasing them Alpha Video? If it is, they have TONS of public domain older horror, sci-fi, film noir, etc., and I'm excited that this company is releasing (whoever) they are!

Frogot to mention....... Not that it matters a whole lot, but Francis Ford Coppola (who's he)was the associate producer of 'The Terror'

The current PD copy I have of Beat the Devil on DVD looks pretty bad. I had to move from the big TV down to a 34" tube just to make it watch-able. BD's extra resolution should help you see the bad print and transfer in all of their glory. Enjoy!

I'll buy Beat the Devil as long as the PQ reviews are strong. It's a personal fave and contains my all-time favorite shot from any movie.

Don't say that around Brandon Lee fans.....

I went there

this is a neat announcement, since they're pub domain, who knows who the distributor is yet, and who knows how much effort has been put into 'em. Echo Bay at least tried, so who knows. cheapie titles WILL sell. there is no arguing it. they won't be gangbusters, but 4 titles for the price of one, is pretty freaking awesome.

These are public domain titles. I doubt they will look very good.

now that depends on the effort put into 'em

my example for all PD titles is Charade. it looks like HELL in those cheapies, but the Criterion Collection version is IMMACULATE....and 30 bucks more lol

the price makes me think they'll still be heavily flawed, but we'll find out once they're out
