Default 'There Will Be Blood' - High-Def Digest Review

Just posted Kenneth's review of 'There Will Be Blood.' He's a huge fan of the film itself, and says the video and audio on this Blu-ray presentation are both top notch. The only disappointment is an anemic and overly-simplistic supplemental package, but with such strong fundamentals, this one still earns an easy an recommend.

I have to rewatch this movie again because when I rented the DVD, it was one of the worst transfers I have ever seen. Good to know that the PQ is great.

This one I have got to get. I loved the movie in the theater, and I can't wait to watch it again.

However, the US cover is pretty craptastic in my opinion, so I think I'll wait for a Dutch version or get the UK version instead.

Great stuff. I've read practically every review on the web and this one is my favourite. Couldn't agree more with the deleted scenes. They were quite strong and could've been added with some minor trimming.

Don't get me wrong I love DDL (he made Gangs of New York one of my favorite movies). But I watched There Will Be Blood in theatres after seeing so much praise from critics. My god my gf and I nearly walked out like 5 times but we stayed just thinking..okay something big is going to happen to make the whole thing wow me..just wait..okay not yet...just wait....not yet...3 hours later...nothing. Movie title needs to be changed to = There Will Be Boredom. Seriously and the ear piercing music non-stop throughout the film hinting to some kind of dramatic thing going to happen ...yeah no..nothing...it's like playing hardcore horror slashing music...but the only thing you're doing is talking to someone for five minutes straight...DDL is still a great actor...but this movie..blew major chunks...so bad...that it's one of the few movies I refuse to even rent. If you really need to know about the whole "I Drink your milkshake" thing....then just watch the last 15 minutes of the movie..it'll save you the headache.

I've been waiting to read this review for a while now, glad to hear he gave really good picture quality and sound remarks. I bought the Blu-Ray as soon as it came out on Tuesday, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Probably will today. Now I own both the best movies of 2007 in HD.

I absolutely loved the movie when I saw it in the cinema, so I can't wait to pick this up on BD. It's just a shame so many retailers ran out of stock so quickly that it won't be worth importing by the time they have it again. I'll just be waiting for the UK release I guess.

It happens.... you're not the only one! I personally really liked it and plan on scooping it up. But, it definitely is the kind of movie that will have plenty of fans and haters.

I absolutely HATED Blade Runner and pretty much everyone else is enamored with it....go figure?

Terribly over-rated movie, No Country for Old Men definitely deserved the academy award over this. The score was ridiculously over-powering to the point where it was distracting, it was also about 20 minutes too long.

I'm guessing I wouldn't enjoy it too much, from the opposite-ends-of-the-spectrum opinions expressed here. I don't want to feel like I'm reading a book while I watch a movie..that doesn't mean I need explosions and nudity every thirty seconds, but it does mean that it's ok to imply dramatic tension without actually FORCING it upon the viewer. To me, that's what makes a movie really spectacular..when you can watch it once for the spectacle, twice for the message, and three or more times for the conventions employed to deliver the experience.

I *love* DDL as an actor, his role in Gangs was one of the best performances I've ever seen from ANYONE. I'm sure the acting is as described in the review..and at some point I hope I get the chance to see the film. But I probably won't go out of my way, based on the reviews. Which is good, because it means the reviews and review-reviews did what I wanted them to
