Default 4 Sony action movies coming on 12th August

Quote:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of 4 action titles on 12th August 2008. Hong Kong director Ringo Lam and star Jean-Claude Van Damme team up to put viewers at Maximum Risk, then Steven Segal has a go at doing some damage in Half Past Dead before giving way to Wesley Snipes in 7 Seconds and Ice Cube in XXX: State of the Union.

The only extras confirmed so far are…

Half Past Dead

* Commentary with Writer/Director Don Michael Paul
* Deleted Scenes
* "The Making of Half Past Dead"

Some of those are Straight to DVD stuff. Wonder why they would put those out before other classic action movies?!

This is starting to get maddening. Sony is sitting on the old Columbia Pictures films. Films, which are actually good, yet they refuse to release anything other than "loud noises" in high definition.

I blame the Rambo review thread for Sony's decision to release these movies.

Wow, B-Movie Action Bonanza! With so many fantastic titles in the Sony & Columbia library... they go and release this, at best, middling quartet. Crazy.

If this is how Sony is planning to get 100 titles out this year and drive up sales, they are sorely mistaken. And they were doing so well this year...

The more titles the better, these ones are pure crap though.
