Default 'Semi-Pro' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Semi-Pro' has been posted. He says it's a pretty
disappointing Will Ferrell comedy, but some viewers might like it.
This Blu-ray offers an above average transfer and DTS HD MA 7.1
surround track, but it does have some technical flaws and a poor
supplemental package. Give it a rent.

Agrees. This movie was terrible and not that funny. The comedy feels forced at time. Glad I didn't rent or buy this one .

I think if Paramount and Universal came to blu just a little bit earlier, we may have seen some of his other movies on blu next week as well.

There was some good bits in the film. It definitely works better as a "group" film.

It isn't fantastic...but the Bear Fight is awesome!

Also:

The Movie Itself:
...Lionsgate has placed both cuts on a single disc, and added a second Blu-ray disc to house all of the supplemental features.)...

The Audio:
...I’m ecstatic when a studio like Lionsgate utilizes the latest and greatest technology the format has to offer...

Meh, I'm still keeping this on pre-order.

I'm a sucker for Ferrell. People didn't like Blades of Glory and I thought that was very funny as well.

"phoned-in" is the perfect description for "Semi-Pro". It's too bad that the movie wasn't nearly as funny as the deodorant commercials featuring Ferrell's character.

And I agree that Blades of Glory is pretty hilarious in its parody of ice skating.

If I didn't like Blades of Glory but loved Anchorman, will I like Semi-Pro?

Trying to decide if I should buy or rent. I'm a huge Will fan but can't decide, there's so many good releases coming out in the next few weeks.

Well I have this on pre-order but I try to ignore the bad things I hear about this movie simply because the majority here seems to hate Blades of Glory as well but I loved that movie. The worst Ferrell comedy to date IMO is Talladega Nights. Would you guys say this is worse than that? Although it being a New Line release I expected a better review of the disc.

That's embarassing. Sorry guys, I've spent waaaay too much time reviewing the original 'Rambo' trilogy this week -- I guess Lionsgate was just lodged in my head.

It's been fixed and updated. Thanks as always for catching any errors that slip through the cracks!
