'Shrek the Third' - Pre-release Buzz

DreamWorks is bringing the green to Blu, announcing a feature-packed release of 'Shrek the Third' for September 16, 2008.

Wish the first 2 were coming with + Shrek the Halls extra, but I guess I shouldnt be greedy.

Think the cover art will be differant from the HD DVD? I believe Mummy and Mummy Returns are different

A lot of former HD DVD-only releases are coming to Blu in September. And it feels like such a long ways away...

Madagascar is the only one that wasnt released on HDDVD that is coming to blu. Thought it would be with the theatrical release of Madagascar2 or the DVD/Blu release of it

I think there's a pretty good chance, that they'll release it for the holiday season this year. Or they can wait until 2010, when the fourth part comes out.

AND they are vastly overpricing it. Shreck ought to be List Price of $28.95

$40 is just too much!!

Paramount was like that too during the infancy of DVD. Just overcharging.

Either they're setting it up to be a heavily discounted title or they are way overestimating the demand for this film.

I'd rather see the good Shrek movies get released, but oh well, soon enough I'm sure.

Too bad the movie itself wasn't that good.
Now, bring Shrek 1 and then we'd talk.
Shrek 2 was ok.
Shrek 3, had no plot at all. Basically, sell the popcorn while it still warm.

I have this on HD-DVD, so I'll probably wait until they release the other two.

Shrek the Halls should be part of this release. Since the special is only 22 minutes long it doesn't make since to give it its own release. The extra 20 gigs the Blu-Ray offers over the HD-DVD is more then enough to fit it on this release. Unfortunitly I pretty much know Paramount will milk the franchise.
