Default 'Rambo III' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of "Rambo III' has been posted. He says this title
brought the initial trilogy sputtering to the finish line. The Blu-ray
should satisfy fans with its impressive technical presentation,
including a good video transfer, above average lossless audio, and
wisely chosen supplements. This is for the fans.

Haha, I love the introduction
I'll pass on this one,, an get número dos.
I guess I'm too young to appreciate First Blood cause I thought it was pretty damn slow and a tad on the dull side.

Did you watch 2 first? What's your favorite Rocky movie Rocky 4?

Aah... Sly Stallone with his Farrah Fawcett hairdo singlehandedly slaughtering the entire Soviet invasion force without reloading even once... fond memories. But I'll pass on this and watch 'Hot Shots II' instead.

well sounds good, seems like only "bad" thing is the actual story which i think is a good story it may not be a Casablanca but then again it doesn't aim to be. Its an action movie and since PQ and AQ is very good im glad im getting this with the 3 other Rambo movies

no. But I was on my ipod most of the time for part I(that means it drags)
Someone needs to pull up the chart that said how many kills in each one.

and I did like it in Rocky 4 when the black guy said, "time to build some hurting bombs"

I prefer Rambo III over Rambo: First Blood II...III finally takes the franchise where it needed to be, mindless action with the occassional sweeping visuals (I prefer desert over jungle). It was also nice to see Rambo fighting in a relevant war instead of re-fighting the Vietnam War in 1985. "Do we get to win this time?" (First Blood II) was easily the worst line of dialogue in the entire series.

I haven't seen any of these in a very long time. I'm anxiously awaiting he low-priced box set arrival to me for next week. Thanks for the review!

The reviewer sounds stodgy in these last 2 Rambo reviews. I've never seen any Rambo movies, but I always wanted to. I wonder how I'd like 'em...

I think the reviewer let's his distaste for the movie skew his final rating. By that logic. So dumb, FOR FANS ONLY. Well, no crap fans are going to buy it.

I've always said this but HD disc reviewers put too much stock into their reviews of the movies. If I want a review, I'll read it from a real professional. Why can't they just review the disc technical qualities?

Fans shouldn’t panic -- the only supplements missing from the BD is a dated EPK quickie, a bit of text-based material, and the 2004 Ultimate Edition’s migraine-inducing “Survival Mode” enhancements.
the BD release is allso missing the 8 deleted scenes from the 2004 Ultimate Edition

Since I review movies for a living, I'm curious as to what constitutes a "real professional?" Sorry to get touchy, but I have to say this is the rudest post I've ever had hurled my way. If you don't think we're real professionals, why would you invest any trust in our technical reviews?

As to the actual complaint lodged in your post, our site has never hidden the fact that we evaluate the film itself as much as the technical merits of the disc. 'Rambo III' is a pretty terrible flick (one reviled by many 'Rambo' fans), has a less-than-ideal MA audio track, and an anemic set of supplements that aren't that great to begin with. This disc is the very definition of a release that is for fans only.

The "For Fans Only" designation exists to make it clear that those who haven't see a film before are unlikely to enjoy the disc as a whole. Thus, current fans are the only ones who will probably get any value from the release.

My apologies to anyone stumbling across this fairly angry response. I invest hefty hours, thorough research, and thousands of words reviewing each disc that comes my way -- feel free to question my talent or my opinions, but please don't question my professionalism. I'm more than open to listening to a debate as to how heavily we should consider the film itself, but I won't put any credence in a complaint that shotguns from the hip.
