Default 'Natural History Collection' -- pre-release buzz

BBC Video has announced 'The BBC High-Definition Natural History Collection':

This compilation set includes 'Planet Earth: The Complete Series' (Episodes 1-11); Wild China (Episodes 1-6); 'Galapagos' (Episodes 1-3); and 'Ganges' (Episodes 1-3).

Specs and extras are the same as the previously-released versions, and the only real difference in the discs is the out box packaging.

Retail is $179.98, and street date July 22.

I am definitely getting this. I had Planet Earth on HD-DVD, but I sold it off after I got my Blu-Ray player (as a kind of fundraiser, heh). I want it back!

I have PE and Gal. I hear Ganges will be available as a standalone, but what about Wild China. Anyone know if this one is available on its own?

If I did not already own PE and Gal. then I would get this.

But for someone who owns neither this would be great!

Too bad they didn't use this opportunity to include the "Planet Earth: The Future" a separate three-part series as well as the 10-minute "Planet Earth Diaries" for each episode that covers a specific aspect of production as was exclusive to the DVD version.

BBC really sucks at Blu-Ray. No extras and soundtracks ported from the DVDs often only 2.0 channels. 5.1 lossy is already lousy but 2 channels of sound on Blu-Ray is completly unacceptable
