Default Belly & The Doors - August 12th

DVDEmpire just listed the Lions Gate titles. Not really interested in Belly but sort of liked Val Kilmer in The Doors, not sure if I'll buy it. No specs are listed for either title yet:

Belly
The Doors

I'm in for The Doors... or most any Oliver Stone movie for that matter that we don't already have on BD. Give me Platoon and JFK to be more specific! But yes, I will definitely take The Doors too.

i'm buying The Doors and Belly

Belly I thought was a entertaining flick. Bad acting from Nas, DMX seemed somewhat like he could have potential and Method Man shined and proved why he was a great addition to the Wire. But yeah the movie was entertaining and i still have my dvd somewhere

I'll get The Doors, never heard of Belly.

Funny, that is mentioned. I was suppose to get The Doors (dvd) as a gift from my last girlfriend but before receiving the gift, we broke up and she decided to keep it for herself.

I guess, I win in the end!

Ha.

Everyone just wants their own movies to come out. While I dont like Belly, I'm glad its coming out. The more variety that is out, the more people will buy into high def because they have the movies they want out on it.

I am absolutely all over The Doors. I love the film, and for some reason have never picked it up on DVD.

It was actually pretty eerie how much Val Kilmer looked like Jim Morrison in this movie. I'm a long time fan of the Doors, so it was cool seeing a movie that chronicled and expanded upon some of Jim Morrison's life. While I have some problems with the movie, I did like it overall. For those of you out there that have never read "No One Here Gets Out Alive", I would highly recommend it. Also, it's pretty neat to check out his poetry and musings in "An American Prayer" (killer album as well) and "The Lords and the New Creatures".

Looking forward to getting this movie in high-definition, as it will be a day one purchase. The soundtrack is powerful and rich with songs, so it's worth it for the audio score alone.

Default Should be beautiful!

I am a very big fan of The Doors and Jim Morrison. I am looking forward to buying this movie on Blu-Ray. It should be beautiful! All the time lapsed scenes in the desert and seeing Val as Jim as if in real life should be a treat! Even though this movie only sensationalized the drunk Morrison or as his fans call him JIMBO, it still has beautiful parts in it that I focus on rather than the negative. I look at this film as part of fantasy Stone had about Morrison with some truths also. We all (his fans) have fantasies about Jim and I wish that the movie had been promoted as such so that laymen that saw this movie didn't think this was what Jim was all about.
The Doors
by Oliver Stone
(non-biographical)

This looks better.
