Kenneth's review of 'The Pat Metheny Group: The Way Up Live' has been posted. He says this band isn't for everyone, but this Blu-ray offers solid video, top-notch audio, and some interesting, but limited supplements. Worth a look.

He reviewed the HD DVD, not the Blu-ray

Ya, I am waiting for a review of the Blu-ray before I buy this release. Actually, I own a Pat Metheny DVD-A, he is a first rate musician and it is good jazz music, but this title hardly has any mass market appeal.

Ah nevermind. Looks like the Blu-ray was reviewed as well.

That is good to know, it should sell like hotcakes now.

A bit disappointing the comments about the DTS-HD track. That would have been my interest in purchasing it.

I got the chance to watch this one the other day. It was always my understanding that the release was DTS-MA as I remember reading that on the DTS website, so I was suprised when it's mentioned in the review as DTS-HD. When I bitstreamed it last night my receiver said DTS-MA. I don't think that was in error?
I will say that the mix isn't that impressive, nor the clarity of the solo instruments, however the sound of the bass and drum is well articulated. |
