Default 'Twister' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Twister' is up. He says the film still has its
script issues, but fans will be pleased to know that this Blu-ray
release makes the standard DVD irrelevant. It features an
above-average video transfer, a powerful Dolby TrueHD audio track, and
a generous collection of supplements. Worth a look.

I figured the audio would be high on the chart and the video would be in the middle. Definetly a buy for me.

Man I need a true high def receiver. I think this summer I will buy a Yamaha v663 or Onkyo 605 (both so hard to find in Canada at a reasonable price) so I can enjoy the awesome sound of Twister. I prolly pick this up after I get a new receiver so I can blow the roof off my house.

Wow, is anyone else disappointed by this???

Halfwasted, the cheapest I've seen the Onkyo 605 is at NCIX.com and it was $700+ ....

What are you disappointed in?

I was expecting the video to be a 4 & the audio a 5.

It's a 10 year old film that I think will look great in hidef. I never expected it to look like 1 of the top tier titles that just came out in the last year.

I'm sure it will look & sound great.

Mine is on the way from Amazon. It was a blind buy for me.

Exactly what I expected.

Agreed, but its one of those "check brain at the door" films that end up in our collections sometimes. Even though I try to avoid having too many of these types of films, sometimes you have to bite since its a crowd pleaser. Amazons GREAT pricing takes a lot of the "bite" away too.

So, I bought it knowing full well that its completely silly and over the top..... like 90% of all the movies out there.

I'm curious to rent for the TrueHD but was never a fan of the film.

Yea, the movie itself is just bleh......but the reason to buy this movie is for the sound track. When that Twister rips through your living room you will duck for cover!

I actually enjoyed the movie when it was in theaters, and my copy was shipped yesterday from Amazon.

I was hoping for a higher PQ but I guess it is what it is. I'm glad the audio is great though.

Another superb review by Ken. I am not sure if I will be getting this or not but I will give it a rent for sure.
