Default 'P.S. I Love You' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'P.S. I Love You' has been posted. He says it's a sensitive, often perceptive comedy, but it does take a few wrong turns This Blu-ray features so-so video and audio, and understuffed supplements. Makes a decent rental, though.

This crap gets a TrueHD track and Michael Clayton/Jesse James get Dolby Digital?

Thanks, Warner.

From the terrible premise and bad performances, to the stereotyping, annoying accents, and excessive length, this movie sucked hard. And this is coming from someone who has learned to tolerate boderline bad romantic comedies for the sake of my girlfriend.

The Movie Itself: *****
Bottom Line: Avoid at all costs unless there's something in it for you. 126 minutes of pain.

Hmmm, not sure what to do about this one. I want to get it but I'm not sure whether it'll be worth getting the blu ray or whether I should just get the SD version instead. I regretted getting Brokeback Mountain on blu ray, that was a film which didn't need high def. I think this may be the same.

If $25 was all she was going to cost you if you stayed together, would you mind posting her phone number for others to contact?

I thought the video was better than 3 stars. There were a couple fairly rough parts, but it seemed to get a little better as the movie progressed. Colors aren't exceptional, I'll give you that, but overall, the video looks significantly better than most of the other 3-star titles I've seen.

I've noticed that chick flicks consistently receive mediocre video and audio scores. Part of that I'm sure is production values of the movies themselves, and I don't want to cry "foul," but I've definitely noticed that for chick flicks, there's a lot less written about the audio and video than for other films. It honestly feels like they're being passed over a bit in favor of films the reviewers are more looking forward to. I understand that, and appreciate just having the reviews, but I can't help but suspect a little bit of "ho-hum" bias against "chick movies."

I did like the movie itself. It's a muddled mess, really, but the letters are just so beautiful. There's a lot of really tender moments that made me cry. Those moments definitely saved the movie for me.

We just watched this through a Netflix rental and agree it's an average movie, deserving of 3 to 3.5 stars. I wasn't very impressed with the TrueHD track, Peter was spot on with his review.

I am a guy and I did enjoy the movie i may even buy it I rented the blu-ray the transfer is more 3.5 stars in my eyes but oh well. I really like anything with Hillary Swank in it I mean i did even like the Reaping. SO its only 22 dollars on amazon not a bad buy if you like the movie or any of the people in the movie.

Totally agree. However I not only found this film bad, but actually found it really creepy. A very warped view of romance which is no doubt the consequence of the writer being so young when she wrote it. If that wasnt bad enough Buttler's attempt at an irish accent was shockingly bad.

overall this film should be avoided!
