Default 'Yukikaze' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review if 'Yukikaze' has been posted. He found the film confusing. This Blu-ray edition sports a pair of great TrueHD audio tracks, but only offers an upscaled 1080i video transfer and few special features. At $150, this one is for fans only.

Jeez ballsy much Bandai? Wrapping a turd up in shiny wrapping it's still a turd.

Wow. $150 for a 5 episode upscaled blu-ray. I don't understand who would be interested in this. I would really like to know how many copies of this actually gets sold. At least Bandai's improving since their Freedom series though, since they aren't releasing one episode per disc, but still. I hope this isn't what we can expect from the other anime distributors in the future.

What a dissapointment. If they had done a stellar job on the remaster, I could see the pricetag since anime is such a niche market. But since it wasn't nearly as good as it should have been, I think I'll be passing on this one. 3 hours is a long film, but then so were Black and White and WoH and they weren't nearly as expensive.

At the a list price of $149.99, for a transfer of this quality, this is completely unacceptable and definitely underwhelming. I'm really not sure what Bandai Visual is thinking with this one, but I'm certain that the lack of sales for this package will ring loud and clear.
