True. But an import plays just fine. 5.1 Uncompressed sound.

The 3rd will be a new release on that day. It's got Johnny Rico again so it has to be good.

Is one of the direct to disc movies? Did the third one ever play in a theater?

This is a direct to video feature.

You have to realize, while Starship Troopers has been able to show itself to have a fanbase that justifies smaller releases, the first film was not actually successful given how much it cost. You can take it to the bank the film is still in the red.

So, I wouldn't expect a theatrical release again for any sequels (unless miraculously it becomes a mega hit and a pop culture phenom...unlikely). This one is bigger budget than part 2, which cost like 6 million. I think this is a 20 million dollar film.

Compare that to the 100 million plus budget of the first film. I'll take what I can get though.

Glad to see this coming. I love love love this movie, so it's day one for part 1. And I'll buy part 3 just cause I'm a sucker for all things ST.
