Default 'One Missed Call' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'One Missed Call' has been posted. He hated it. This Blu-ray release is serviceable, with strong video, decent audio, and no extras. One to avoid.

i 99% complete with peter except the only thing i would of done differently was give the film itself star section a 0 instead of 1/2 a star. i had to see in theatres unfortunatley, i knew all about it and how bad it seemed (0% on rottentomatoes), i'm done talking about it, complete garbage.

This one could have had a 7 star a/v rating, and still nobody would buy it.

Warner should maybe follow suit with Lionsgate where they don't release some of their B-title films on Blu, only SD-DVD. Being a horror movie, it will probably sell some units.

I saw it and I gotta say this movie should have been direct to video... this movie is missing a climax and just suddenly shifts to the "end" with no real explanation. I think the editor fell asleep and cut out the real ending lol

i feel true pity for Peter for having to watch this....we should start a paypal charity to compensate for the pain.....

i think this movie is a clear example of something we in america should take heed of: DO NOT REMAKE MIIKE. period. his style works when he's doing it, usually, but to take his movies, bastardize and americanize them, ruins 'em. we have enough shlock horror, enough redone J-horror, that we don't need this crap.

i was wondering if this film would be the first to get NO stars for the film itself

I couldn't agree more. Takashi Miike is a fantastic and twisted filmmaker -- I can't think of another director who could work the magic that man does with the material he chooses.

'Happiness of the Katakuris' anyone? What other filmmaker could make a horror/comedy/musical/drama/zombie/romance/partial-claymation/fantasy work like Miike?

I first watched One missed Call on the internet the video quality was very bad and it was hard to tell what was going on. I didnt like the movie much and as for the original I like the director but it was nothing to write home about sorry it was a very bland Asian horror movie. So I didnt expect much from the remake so im not surprised that many thought it sucked. Still I like the lead actress enough to giv this another try on blu-ray(i will probably get flamed for that comment but oh well whats it to you anyway). Besides Blu is so lacking in horror movies I wil ltake what I can get even this... I cant wait until good horror movies are released on blu(and yes i have Halloween, and Dawn of the dead)

You could have gotten the Resident Evil films since this one makes the trilogy look like LOTR of Horror!

Its not HORRIBLE, but its kind of dumb, the deaths are super stupid. The first girl who dies is one stupid bitch.

I respect a persons opinion, but is there a movie that you don't like?

The siren song of crap is too strong for me to ignore; the worse I hear a movie is the more I feel like I'm being dared to stick my tongue to the flagpole. And boy, have I heard bad things about this one. God help me, I have the HD DVD of this on pre-order.

Glad to see I'm not the only one baffled as to why WB bothered with a high def release. I think this just barely edges out the Blu-ray of 'I Know Who Killed Me' for pure inexplicability.

Okay, when the person who loves the remake of 'Black Christmas' says this, I know it's going to be unforgettably atrocious. Now I'm sort of excited.

Edit: I missed that there's a Descriptive Video Service track. That's interesting, even if the movie's a bust. Is that a first for WB? (And why put it on an HD release? If you get me.)
