Children of Men' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Children of Men has been posted. He loves the film. This Nordic Blu-ray boasts an excellent video transfer and an impressive (albeit standard) sound mix, but not a single special feature. If you must have the movie on Blu-ray now, this version is worth importing.

have this on hd dvd and dont have any reason to buy it when it comes out on blu-ray in america unless the pq is better and/or with more extras. great movie.

Hmm, is this one REALLY worth importing? $41 is a bit too much for me. I'm sure Universal will be releasing this on blu-ray in North America sometime soon. I personally didn't enjoy this movie as much as Ken. I'd give it a 3.5 outta 5.

Its a great movie. I have the UK Import HD DVD and its just a amzing piece of work. Great PQ and the last 25 minutes or so is just amazing.

Wow I'm suprised people actually liked this movie. I thought i was horrible, bought it on DVD without seeing it and thats one of the reasons I am only buying my favorite movies on BD now...

just won this on ebay (omg i actually WON an auction for once) for 27, new, shipped. not too shabby. VERY much looking forward to getting this one in, as it has the same PQ star rating as the HD, which looked PHENOMENAL. w00t

I disagree. Although this movie was at times a little slow it was still quite fascinating. The world of the future was just a little to real for me. This is a movie about how earth could possibly be if man doesn't change it's way's and start acting right. I don't know, something about this movie really resonated with me. It is both dark and dirty yet somehow beutiful and inspiring. It shows both the evil and good that mankind is capable of. I didn't really understand this movie the first time I watched it and wasn't impressed. After a few times though you have to look at the messege it is trying to say and you will like it much better.

Granted this isn't a oscar type of movie or something you want to watch to feel good about things. You have to actually look at the world as the people see it. No new children=no future for mankind. Stop and think about all the chaos and despair that would create. These people are trying to live on a planet that is dying. This is a simple but brilliant story. I guess your right about different taste's. I sat through Pan Laybryth one time, that was more then enough. I hated it, terrible. Some on here swear that is one of the all time great's, I didn't get it.
