I need Help understanding the No Country for Old Men Ending (Spoiler Warning!)

Maybe they should hire someone other than the Coens to beef up the ending!

Maybe have Spielberg come in and have a group of aliens from the future destroy the earth and take Sheriff Bell as their new leader.

Or Michael Bay could have Bell stockpile weapons and go on a vigilante killing spree with Optimus Prime?

The movie needed more quick edits, car chases, fires, laser gun fights, and drunken barroom brawls, for sure! :-(

I have no problem with people not liking this movie or even thinking it sucked. But to say the Coehn's dropped the ball and made a lazy ending? That's just ignorant. It would be fair to argue that Cormac McCarthy wrote a lazy ending because the book ends the exact same way! If you don't like the story, you won't like the movie. Which is fine, its not for everyone.

I watched this one on the satellite yesterday and it was a waste of 2 hours of my life. I'm really glad I didn't blind buy it on blu-ray first. Saved myself $30+
I personally thought it was a lazy ending. I REALLY hate movies that end like this. To me, it feels like the Coens couldn't figure out a good ending so they just threw this ending together.
Also, I hate killers/psycopaths like the guy was in the movie, thinking he's SO smarter than everyone, playing his little games (the coin flipping stuff, which was also REALLY annoying). In real life, people would either tell him to F-off, or just punch him in the face (Trailer Park Boys come to mind when I think of this...).
I just wish this movie could've been better. I was really anticipating on seeing it. It kept getting a lot of high praise from many people on this site, but ultimately, I don't see what made it so great. I thought the acting was very droll, direction was stale, and some of the dialogue made me laugh when it wasn't suppose to be funny.
I'll give it a 1 outta 5. I'll never watch it again. But hey, that's just me.

when you go into a movie called ZODIAC you must think to yourself hmmm....... that must be about the zodiac killer.... AND.... if i'm not completley retarted, i should know that since he is one of the most well known and notorious serial killers in american history... HE NEVER GOT CAUGHT!!!!

so if you go into zodiac with a brain then you will know exactly, since it is completley based on real life and what happened, how it may end.

just because the man was never caught doesnt mean it wasnt a good movie, it was one of the creepiest and most well made movies i've ever seen, i loved it. everyone who has told me they loved it are people who arent retarted and know just a little about the zodiac killer, people who say they hated it are people who have no idea and are completley ignorant to any part of american criminal history.

I don't think people are retarted. I know lots of peopel who don't like this movie. It's not for everyone.

I do think that some people want to argue about everything and an internet forum gives them license to act however they want to.

Lets face facts,folks here spill into 2 camps for the most part....

1)Enjoyed the movie and appreciated the understated and powerful ending which remained true to the spirit of the book.

2)The Adam Sandler / Transformers crowd who kept waiting for a hail of bullets or bomb to explode at the end.
