Default 'Predator' - High-Def Digest Review

'Predator' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Predator' has been posted. He says it's one of Arnold's better action extravaganzas and an '80s action flick that holds up quite well today. This Blu-ray solid audio and video and and no extras of note. This one gets the job done, but for $39.99 it'f for fans only.

My wife is a fan. We WILL be picking this up. "I ain't got time to bleed" is one of the all time great macho one-liners in the history of cinema...

Default Ducks in a barrel?

From the review: "only to watch them get slaughtered like ducks in a barrel."

Ducks? In a barrel? No, let's get all of our "ducks in a line" instead. Then we can shoot some fish in a barrel. Yeah, that feels better.

Actually I was always partial to the comeback line.

Poncho: You're bleeding, man.
Blain: I ain't got time to bleed.
[Poncho shoots a bunch of grenades up to the top of the cliff]
Poncho: You got time to duck?

Fair point. Predator is pure, unadulterated, testosterone-injected, one-liner gold.

I love how Arnie gets blasted in the sholder by the plasma canon but shakes it off as a flesh wound.

$40.00??? For a bare bones Edition??? Fox needs to get with the program and step up to the plate! I'll probably still buy it, but come on Fox you can do better.

Peace

And I was expecting at most 4 stars for audio and video....shame to since this title would own on BR....Same with Commando...

Sticking with both SDVD versions..

"You're ghosting us motherfucker, I don't care who you are in the world, you give our position one more time, I'll bleed you, real quiet, leave you here".

I don't buy the 3 star down the line review. I've got the 2 disc set and turn it on high to showcase the camp battle and when the commandoes obliterate the jungle--that's what I'm hoping to do once the BD arrives!

Definitely waiting on this one, even though I love the movie. It reeks of double-dip.

I will pass as well. We really need to stop buying Fox's expensive half-assed releases and show them this is unacceptable.
FOX: Stop releasing barebones single layer discs! And if not that, at least lower your list price!

I picked this up in Australia about a week ago. The movie may be soft in spots, but it also has some great looking jungle scenes. I thought it was worth the upgrade. I'm not big on special features, so that didn't bother me. It does smell of double dip though.
