Default 'Fool's Gold' -- pre-release buzz

Warner has announced the Kate Hudson-Matthew McConaughay romantic comedy:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/foolsgold.html

No specs at all yet, but as it's Warner, it's likely 1080p/VC-1 video and TrueHD audio. Stay tuned.

MSRP is $35.99, and street date June 17.

This movie was garbage. Coming from a McConahuagh (whatever) and Hudson fan, and a romantic comedy fan. This movie was garbage from beginning to end. Can we PLEASE have one comedy without the completely witless, brainless, and annoyingly cheery pre-teen? Everything in this movie has been done to death and done over again.

I hope none of you blind buy this trash

Don't worry about that, I don't even need to see the preview let alone the movie to know this is unwatchable tripe.

I am not a fan of either Huson or McConaughay so it does not take much for me to not give this one a chance.

Is it really that bad? I love both actors. I really liked Sahara so would this be a blind buy?

Its comedy action. I guess I will rent first.

I have not seen it, but it has gotten horible reviews.

Of all movies to hit Blu this is one that should have been near the bottom of the list!

Seems like a crappy movie but with the locales shown in the commercials it will probably look really good in hd.

Yea, it is really that bad.

There seemed to be no point to anything, not romantic, not funny, just dumb.

About 2 weeks ago I went to see Vantage Point the last week it was playing. The girlfriend and I were the only ones in the theater. The previews finished up and the movie started playing, except, it started with a beach scene and test about lost treasure. Then it hit me, it was the opening to Fools Gold. I rushed to let them know the wrong movie was playing before I had to endure more suffering.

I'll Netflix this one and chime in with some thoughts later. Much like chip said, I'm a fan of both Hudson and McConaughey, so I'm going to give it a look. It can't be any worse than 'Sleuth', can it?

I kinda enjoyed it... it was more of a treasure hunt type film rather then a romcom... to be a romcom you gotta be a bit funnier than this was but it was enjoyable

Hudson is lovely....
