Default 'Juno' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Juno' has been posted. He says this is a movie to treasure (despite the inevitable backlash). This Blu-ray has solid video and audio and a great batch of extras. This isn't demo material, but just for the movie alone, this one is recommended.

Im definitely going to Blind Buy it.
As long as I get some laugh, or at Least makes me smile like Dan in Real Life, then its worth a 27.95 pricetag

I dunno; I'm still gonna pass on this one. Doesn't seem like my taste in "fun" or "warmth" of what a movie like this should be.

If I were to buy Juno, would the Digital Copy work import to iTunes on my Mac?

Can anyone tell me how these Fox Digital Copy discs work?

Apparently they work stellar for iPods.

Hopefully so.
It's going to feel weird walking into Wal-Mart and buying a Blu-ray, two of my friends work in electronics, so I think I'll check it out up front when they come in.

Yes. It's just like buying a Movie/TV Show off iTunes' Music Store.

I forgot all about the Digital Copy. Save me time/money renting DVD & using Handbrake.

I wouldn't say this film came out-of-nowhere with no big names. I believe a lot of people caught wind of it because of Michael Cera, who is known from Arrested Development and who had just starred in Superbad. Plus it has Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner too. It's not like it was a Clerks or something.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Everyone I've spoke to that's seen all the Best Picture nominations says June should have one hands down.

In other commentary, April is great month for Blu Ray:
Walk Hard next week
Juno the week after
Predator the following week

I like my movie purchasing doses one-per week.

And the director had scored a critical hit with "Thank You for Smoking" in his debut. Not to mention he is the son of well-known comedic director Ivan Reitman. The thing was out of left field more than anything was Diabo Cody. First-time screenwriter and former stripper winds up winning the Oscar for her script. Not only that but she got several million for her second script just on spec. Wow.

I don't think it should've won Best Picture (my vote would have been Atonement), but I enjoyed Juno very much. I would pick up the BD, but that price tag is a big turn-off, so I'll wait for a sale down the line.

I agree. Don't go into this movie expecting Superbad 2 because Michael Cera is in it. It's FAR from that. A couple friends of mine did that and they were completely let down and it hurt their view of the film.

It's one of the best movies in the past year and it's definitely worth the purchase.

If a cynical person like me can enjoy it, I think you will, too. My favorite movies include Sling Blade, Taxi Driver, The Virgin Suicides, and A Clockwork Orange, and I can honestly say that Juno is one of the best movies I've seen in years. The only problem you're going to have is getting over the hype. I was fortunate enough to see the film on its opening night, so I had no preconceived notions going into it. I saw No Country for Old Men this way, too, so my enjoyment didn't suffer because of any expectations.

If you haven't seen this, go into it with an open mind. It is a great movie. DO NOT judge it in the first 15 minutes. I think they were trying to make you think it was just another teen comedy at the start, but then it becomes Juno. It really is a fabulous movie with some great performances.

I saw it before the hype too, but quite frankly it is worth most of the hype, and very little of the backlash. Are the characters annoying sometimes? Yes, but they're teenagers, what do you expect
