looks like Image again releases Heart with a 5.0 soundtrack, missing the bass channel?

the HD DVD is TrueHD and this is DTS Master? did they just convert the sameTrueHD 5.0 track to DTS master?

I am Not Going Blu With You Untill there are players that are full profile compatible with HD DVD playback

Heart was presented Live on HD Channel so 1080i is correct so most live camera tv are 1080i @ 60hz.

5.0, i don't know maybe it's a mixer idea. I owned the HD DVD back then, SQ was very good..

They could have just kept the TrueHD on it.

Maybe Fox made them do it.

I have this one on HD DVD and I Netflixed the BD. Just got done watching it tonight and first some general statements and then some discs specifics.

I really enjoy this disc and while a fan of both bands, in all honestly Earth Wind and Fire really outranked them on this occasion!! Song selection was strong with both bands and I really loved the concept of mixing the groups together.

VIDEO:

Honestly, I can't say it looks any different than my HD DVD outside of (maybe?) the colors seeming a bit deeper? Maybe? I saw what looked like a "filter" effect where there were vertical lines at times in the presentation on both formats. Overall, pretty much the same experience!

AUDIO

There is a difference!!

It was immediate to me the improvement in sound quality going from a Dolby Digital+ soundtrack to a lossless DTS-MA soundtrack. I noted improvement in the following:

Envelopment
Tighter bass with more oomph and resolution
More resonance with the instrumentation
Vocals sounded pretty much the same

What I can say definitively is that the lossless also revealed the weaknesses in the mix. I found the whole mix "busy", "cluttered". Also the crowd mix wasn't very active. I have to agree that you don't really "feel" like you are part of the audience by the mix, however I have to admit the improvement of the lossless soundtrack!

Overall a good disc. Don't know that i'll double-dip for it but certainly if you don't have this disc on either format, I give it a good recommend!
