Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that a trio western films are being released on Blu-ray, all due to hit store shelves on June 10th, just in time for Father's Day. First up is the 1966 Burt Lancaster film 'The Professionals'. Video will be presented as 2.35:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. No special features have been announced at this time.

Next is the Ron Howard directed film 'The Missing' staring Tommy Lee Jones. Video will be presented as 2.40:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. At this time, no extras have been announced.

Finally, the Robert Duvall film 'Broken Trail' will also be released on Blu-ray. Video will be presented as 1.78:1 1080p AVC and feature a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Once again, no extras have been announced at this time.

Once extras get announced for these releases, we'll be sure to let you know.

Alright! Big Western fan here. Wish MGM would get to release the Man with No Name trilogy too. Great news regardless

The Missing was godawful--as much as I love Cate Blanchett.

Speaking of AMC, I'm hoping they release Mad Men Season 1 on blu whenever the DVD is released, I don't think there's a date on that one yet.

Broken Trail should look excellent. My Dad was in town visiting and we watched the mini-series together. I would like to see Open Range get a release as well, it looked great on HD NET Movies.

Terrible film, Tommy Lee Jones has never been hammier in this "reimagining" of The Searchers.
